Raul Gonzalez became the all-time leading scorer in Uefa competitions as he notched twice in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg.
The Spanish forward broke the deadlock when Zenit goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeev failed to hold a cross and Arjen Robben doubled the lead.
Raul then scored his 66th European goal – an exquisite chip – to complete a comfortable victory and give new coach Juande Ramos the perfect start to his tenure.
