Aston Villa Vs Swansea Highlights
Venue: Villa Park
Date: Saturday, 15 September, 2012
Kick off: 15:00 GMT
Head-to-head
Swansea recorded their first win at Villa on 2 January last season, with unanswered goals from Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge.
This is only the 20th meeting between the sides. Aston Villa have won 14, Swansea four and there has only been one draw.
Aston Villa
Villa have gone 13 league matches without a win – a top-flight club record.
They have failed to win any of their last six home matches since March (D3, L3). They won only four league matches at Villa Park last season, the worst record in their 138-year history.
The Villans have not scored more than once in any of their last 11 Premier League fixtures – their longest run without managing at least two goals in a game since a 14-match streak in 1999.
Darren Bent is expected to play the 350th league game of his career. He has scored 148 league goals.
Potential debutant Joe Bennett is the only one of Villa’s eight summer signings to have played in the Premier League prior to this season – and his sole appearance was as a half-time substitute for Middlesbrough on the final day of the 2008-09 campaign.
Swansea City
A win on Saturday would represent their best-ever start to a top-flight season, surpassing the three wins and a defeat in 1981-82.
The Swans are unbeaten in four league matches and last went five top-flight fixtures without defeat between January and March 1982.
They have scored a league-high 10 goals this season.
Michu could become the first player to score in his first four Premier League appearances. He has scored 18 of his 19 league goals since the start of 2011-12 (in Spain and England) from inside the penalty area.
If selected, Luke Moore would make his 200th career league appearance. He played 87 league games for Aston Villa between 2004 and 2008, scoring 14 goals.
