Newcastle edged two points clear of the relegation zone and ended a run of eight straight defeats as they came from behind to draw against West Brom.

Victor Anichebe’s glanced header gave the visitors the lead, before Ayoze Perez reacted smartly to guide home a half-volley just before the break.

Chris Brunt hit the post as West Brom threatened in the second half, but neither side could find a winner.
