QPR’s hopes of avoiding relegation from the Premier League were hit as Charlie Austin missed a penalty as they could only draw at home against West Ham.

Austin’s first-half spot-kick, awarded after a handball from James Collins, was saved by Hammers goalkeeper Adrian.

West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell had a 25-yard free-kick tipped over by QPR goalkeeper Robert Green.

The hosts thought they had won it when Richard Dunne headed in, but the goal was ruled out by referee Mike Jones.
