Peter Crouch made an instant impact to give Stoke victory over Hull.

Crouch had only been on the pitch for a minute after being introduced as a second-half substitute when he nodded home Charlie Adam’s deep cross.

It was the 34-year-old’s fourth goal in as many games and maintained the excellent league form that has seen Stoke lose just three games out of their last 13.

Hull could have expected nothing more after managing just a single shot.
