Steven Thompson struck twice as Burnley dumped Premier League West Brom out of the FA Cup to set up a fifth round tie against Arsenal or Cardiff.

Wade Elliott volleyed in the first for the Clarets before Thompson lashed in the second after a failed clearance.

Gianni Zuiverloon fired in from the edge of the box on the hour to give the Baggies hope.

Robbie Blake skilfully set up Thompson for a simple tap in for his second and Burnley’s third to see them through.
