France Vs Uruguay Highlights
Venue: Stade de France, Paris Date: Wednesday 19 November Kick Off: 20:00 GMT.
The burden of pressure has finally been lifted from France coach Raymond Domenech’s shoulders ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against Uruguay in Paris.
Domenech’s job has been hanging by a thread since Les Bleus’ failed Euro 2008 campaign in the summer but he was given a vote of confidence last month by his employers at the French Football Federation.
For the first time in three months, Domenech can go into an international fixture not having to fear that a defeat could spell the end of his reign once and for all.
The French should therefore play with more freedom when the Uruguayans come to the capital, and Domenech will be looking for style as well as substance at the Stade de France.
Uruguay, a 20-man squad has been named for the visit to Paris, with the only non-European based player River Plate striker Sebastián Abreu, who has the impressive record of having scored 27 times in 46 international matches.
In contrast to their French opponents, the Uruguayan side is relatively experienced at international level, with nearly half of their squad boasting 25 caps.
I think you are thinking like sukrat, but I think you should cover the other side of the topic in the post too…
